Rise Of The Apes - Casting News

Since our last update there have been two major players added to the cast of Rise of the Apes.

First we see that Brian Cox has been cast as the co-owner of the facility where the ape drama and excitement stems from.

Secondly we have heard that Tom Felton of Harry Potter fame has been cast as the son of Cox's character.

I'm not sure how central either character will be to the storyline of the movie, but they are known names to add to the cast.

Rise of the Apes is a reboot of the original Planet of the Apes franchise and is set in modern day San Fransisco and sees the beginning of the ape rebellion with Caesar at the center of the action.

Stay tuned for more information, photos and trailers from the movie as we movie forward with production, filming and the eventual release on June 24, 2011.

Rise Of The Apes - Caesar Cast!

20th Century Fox has announced, via their Twitter account, that Andy Serkis will play Caesar in Rise of the Apes.

The role will call for Serkis to done another motion capture suit again, just like he did for the Lord of the Rings movies and is rumored to be doing for The Hobbit.

Caesar is the leader of the ape rebellion which will supposedly be the climax of the movie.

Serkis joins the cast of James Franco, John Lithgow and Freida Pinto in the prequel/ origin story of the classic Planet of the Apes movies.
